Mpox continues to circulate at low levels in the UK, with most recent data showing cases linked to both clade Ib and clade IIb strains.
As of early this year, England has reported ongoing cases across both clades, with clade IIb remaining more common nationally, with a recent increase in cases in London.
Mpox spreads through close physical contact, including sexual contact, and symptoms typically include fever, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash or lesions that may appear on the face, genitals or other parts of the body.
People at higher risk include gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM), particularly those with new or multiple partners.
Public health guidance continues to recommend prompt testing, isolation when advised, and vaccination for eligible groups.
We will be offering routine vaccination at our services on an opportunistic basis, for those at higher risk. Please discuss with your clinician at your consultation.
Updated guidance on diagnosis, isolation, and vaccination remains available through the UK Health Security Agency.
