Dr Sara Mumford, Chief Medical Officer
Dr Sara Mumford is a consultant microbiologist and Director of Infection Prevention and Control. She became the Trust’s Chief Medical Officer in January 2024.
She attends the Trust Board and a number of subcommittees and also leads the infection prevention strategy.
Sara was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management in July 2023.
Sara joined the Trust in 2007, and has previously been the Trust’s Deputy Medical Director.
She has also worked as a consultant microbiologist at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust and as a consultant in communicable disease control (CCDC) at Kent Health Protection Unit.
