Hypnobirthing

Hypnobirthing is an antenatal training programme using relaxation, breathing and mindfulness techniques.

It supports you and your birth partner to feel calm, confident and in control during childbirth.

By learning how to release fear and tension, you can approach birth more positively and trust your body’s natural ability to birth effectively.

Hypnobirthing is suitable for all pregnancies, not just straightforward ones. If you need medical support, such as an induction of labour, instrumental or caesarean birth, it can help you and your birth partner stay calm and in control during what can otherwise feel like an anxious time.

The course is delivered by midwives alongside antenatal education. The ideal time to attend a hypnobirthing course is between 24–36 weeks of pregnancy.

Each course includes four two-hour sessions, from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesdays at Maidstone Birth Centre or Crowborough Birthing Centre.

The cost is £140 for the four-week course. This includes you and your birth partner, as well as a handbook to keep.

Courses run monthly, and all income is reinvested into the birth centres.

A limited number of free or reduced-cost places may be available. If you’re interested in one of these spaces, please get in touch with the team.
