What we do
We have urgent treatment centres (UTCs) at Maidstone Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks hospitals.
UTCs at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and treat patients with injuries that are not critical or life-threatening but still need urgent attention, such as:
- Fever and infections
- Vomiting
- Sprains
- Scalds and burns
- Minor cuts, bites or stings
- Fractures
- Minor eye injuries
- Head injuries with no loss of consciousness and not related to alcohol.
The UTC at Sevenoaks Hospital is open 8am to 8pm.
You can go to an urgent treatment centre without an appointment.
When you come in, we will assess you using our streaming/triaging system. This helps us decide how to prioritise your treatment needs and who is the best person to see you.
If someone is seen before you, their need is higher.
