About

Dr Ankit Khanna is paediatric consultant at the Trust, where he is involved in acute and community based paediatric care pathway, including neonates.

Dr Khanna obtained his paediatric speciality qualifications rotating between the Kent and London regions, including postings at Guys & St Thomas’s, Royal Brompton, Royal Free and St Mary’s in London.

He subsequently trained and worked in paediatric endocrinology, paediatric type 1 diabetes and paediatric obesity/type 2 diabetes services at Evelina Children’s Hospital, London.

He runs weekly general and specialty clinics, managing children on regular hormonal therapies through outpatients and virtual clinics.

Dr Khanna is currently part of networks linked with the care and co-ordination of paediatric endocrine and diabetes services regionally.

He is actively involved in multinational projects dedicated to enhancing medical technologies and patient experience interface, especially in diabetes.

Along with clinical commitments, Dr Khanna has keen interest and involvement in education and training.

He is Deputy Royal College Tutor and Departmental Lead in training medical students from Kings College London, City St George’s London and international students/work experience placements.

He runs regular simulation sessions for teaching and assessing resident doctors and weekly lectures for Foundation Year trainees.

Dr Khanna is interview panellist for national speciality recruitment for doctors and was part of the educational and training task-force set up to establish the new Kent and Medway Medical School.
