About
Dr Hemant Sharma is an enthusiastic and friendly consultant gastroenterologist, and understands the need for holistic treatment rather than just symptom-based medicine.
Dr Sharma completed his undergraduate training in India and did his further training in the London deanery. His gastroenterology training was based in the North East Thames rotation and his sub-speciality training included liver diseases and liver transplant.
During these years he also developed excellent skills in all forms of endoscopy including very complex interventional endoscopy.
Dr Sharma led the Endoscopy department at the Trust to a JAG accreditation, the hallmark of excellent care provided in the unit.
He is Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology at the Trust working along with many other gastroenterology consultants and nurses.
He has published articles in peer reviewed journals and also has many abstracts and presentation in national and international gastroenterology symposiums/conferences.
Dr Sharma has been the associate Royal College Tutor, is very keen on education training and is actively involved in the development of future consultants.
