Vinod Kolimarala
Dr Vinod Kolimarala has been a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust since September 2021.
He trained in paediatric and paediatric subspecialties across various tertiary centres in the UK. He obtained specialist grid training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition from King’s College Hospital, London and Southampton Children’s Hospital.
He provides multi-disciplinary care for children with gut-related symptoms and his areas of interest include chronic abdominal pain, functional constipation, gut associated food allergies and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr Kolimarala is actively involved in research and has published and presented his work at various national and international conferences around the world.
His current research projects include outcomes of children with suspected cow’s milk protein allergy and other food allergies, gut related problems in children with ADHD and Autism, probiotics and functional abdominal pain.
He is passionate about teaching and training, and has been Honorary Associate Professor in Paediatrics at the American University of the Caribbean and Honorary Lecturer in Paediatrics at St. George’s, University of London.
He is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and also a member of British, European and North American paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition societies (BSPGHAN, ESPGHAN and NASPGHAN).
