About

Dr Rajesh Gupta is a consultant paediatrician with more than 30 years' experience in paediatrics. He has been working at the Trust since 2007 and is currently the Clinical Director for Paediatrics.

Dr Gupta is a general paediatrician with special interest in paediatric epilepsy and neonatology.

Appropriate patient management and positive patient and parent feedback lies at the heart of his clinical practice.

He is also the lead for paediatric epilepsy at MTW and runs a busy multidisciplinary service. He has previously been chair for the South East Thames Paediatrics Epilepsy Group (SETPEG), improving management of children with epilepsy in the region.

Dr Gupta has strong interest in teaching and the training of junior doctors and medical students.

He has been the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) tutor for Kent Surrey and Sussex deanery paediatric trainees for eight years.

He was also undergraduate tutor for medical students from Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’ Hospitals for four years.

He has been actively involved with Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) clinical examination of paediatric trainees and has been the MRCPCH clinical examiner.

Dr Gupta has undertaken other managerial roles including Neonatal Lead and Clinical Risk Lead during his tenure at the Trust.

As Clinical Director he is keen to have staff at all levels, including nursing, administrative and medical, join the excellent and enthusiastic team.

He is always happy to collaborate with stakeholders with a similar aim of raising standards of care and safety of children.
