Dr Albert Edwards graduated from University College London Medical School in 1999 and completed his specialist Clinical Oncology Training in London and Essex.

He spent a year in Toronto undertaking a Head and Neck Radiation Oncology Clinical Fellowship and spent two years at Guildford doing a Prostate Brachytherapy Clinical Fellowship.

Dr Edwards is based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital and is a member of the Maidstone Prostate Brachytherapy team.

He specialises in treating prostate, bladder and kidney cancer with brachytherapy, image-guided radiotherapy, and systemic treatments such as cytotoxic chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapies and targeted agents.

He has a great deal of experience in inserting SpaceOAR hydrogel perirectal spacers and has consulted for the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) Interventional Procedures Committee about their safety.

He is joint lead for radiotherapy at the Trust.
