Mohsin Dani
Mr Mohsin Dani is a consultant breast and oncoplastic surgeon.. He was appointed in October 2014 after finishing his Higher Surgical Training in Kent, Surrey & Sussex Deanery. His training included stints at the prestigious Guy's & St Thomas’ Hospital.
Mr Dani did three years of research at Mount Vernon Hospital (studying interstitial fluid pressure in solid tumours and its manipulation to increase delivery of chemotherapy drugs).
He trained as a specialist registrar in Surgery in Kent, Surrey & Sussex Deanery.
He then specialised in breast cancer and benign breast disease, including complex reconstruction and cosmetic breast surgery. He has held travelling fellowships to Paris and Helsinki and worked with experts in the field of breast surgery.
Mr Dani specialises in all aspects of breast disease, benign and malignant including breast pain.
He provides oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer patients with immediate and delayed breast reconstruction using implant or patient’s own tissue (muscle and fat) as well as revisional cosmetic surgery, including symmetrisation after breast cancer surgery.
For a carefully selected group of patients Mr Dani offers breast reconstruction without disturbing the muscles, preserving full muscle function.
Mr Dani’s special area of interest is local perforator based flaps (LICAP, MICAP) which allow volume replacement of large tumours avoiding the need for mastectomy and complex reconstruction. He was the first to introduce this technique for MTW and Kent patients.
Other techniques include therapeutic reduction (removing large tumours with breast reduction), breast augmentation, mastopexy (breast lift), breast reduction, and fat transfer (lipofilling).
