HIV PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis) involves HIV negative people taking pills containing the drugs tenofovir & emtricitabine. Taken correctly, it is very effective at preventing HIV infection.

There are 3 ways to get PrEP.

The PrEP Impact study offers NHS funded PrEP to people at very high risk of HIV (https://www.prepimpacttrial.org.uk)

MTW WKISH services are pleased to be part of the PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) Impact Trial.

We have a limited number of trial places so please ring 0300 373 0709 to make an appointment for this. If you wish to join the trial and can attend our service regularly then we would be happy to offer you a chance to be part of the trial. Please call 0300 373 0709 and ask for a PrEP assessment appointment.

You can buy PrEP online for your own use and we advise that you visit www.iwantprepnow.co.uk for more information on where to buy the drugs.

If you buy PrEP we are happy to monitor you while you take this treatment. We recommend that you attend a screening appointment for a safety check prior to starting it. If you already taking it you should attend for a monitoring visit every 3 months so we can check your health whilst on the medication. Please call 0300 373 0709 to make an appointment for either of these. Click here for our information sheet on PrEP

You can buy branded Truvada medicine from our Saturday PrEP clinic at 56 Dean Street via http://dean.st/prep/
