Our Children’s service is kind, caring, compassionate and supportive with friendly, fun nurses and doctors.
We strive to maintain an innovative service at all times. We offer day surgery beds, overnight stays and ambulatory assessments from a team of specialist paediatric staff.
The service runs five units, offering excellent standards of care. A team of Play Specialists supports all the units enabling the patients to play, learn and discover whilst in hospital. They have an important role in the preparation of the child for procedures, distraction and allowing parents and carers a support network for their child whilst in hospital.
We also have an extended team involving specialist nurses, who play an important role in supporting the ward, such as Oncology nurses, Diabetes nurses, Gastroenterology nurses, Respiratory nurses, a Safeguarding Children team and the Community Children’s Nursing team. These nurses support the patient in and out of the hospital environment ensuring continuity of care.
