On Wednesday 7 December and Thursday 8 December, we celebrated the continuous efforts of our volunteers from across our sites, with our Voluntary Services Team and executive assistants serving them a Christmas lunch to say thank you.

The event included speeches from Chief Executive Miles Scott, Medical Director Dr Peter Maskell, Voluntary Services Manager Anne-Marie Stevens-Swain and Chief Nurse Jo Haworth.

Long service awards were presented by Jo Haworth and Peter Maskell to a range of colleagues with differing lengths of service. From Sally Shepherd volunteering for five years, to Betty Light and Margret Tunbridge who have both been volunteering at the Trust for 25 years.

Although awards were given out for the long service of some of our volunteers, this meal was to celebrate every volunteer, regardless of how long they have been with us! From all of us here at the Trust, we thank you, as we could not accomplish what we do without the support of you all.

Our volunteers make a real difference to our patients and support our staff in so many ways. They are an integral part of the hospital’s day to day operation. We’re always looking for more volunteers, so if you have some spare time and would like to make a difference, then find out more about how you can get involved!
