Apprenticeships are a key way for people to learn on the job, both for new starters to the NHS and for existing members of staff, allowing learners the opportunity to gain a qualification and apply their learning while continuing to earn a salary.

We offer apprenticeship opportunities for a number of different roles, these provide an excellent opportunity if you are looking to start a career in the NHS. Currently we have apprentices undertaking work in clinical support, administration and pharmacy, and many more will soon be available.

How to apply

Our apprenticeship vacancies will be advertised on NHS Jobs and the Find an apprenticeship site. Notifications will also be added to Trust social media pages. To apply you will need to register on NHS jobs where you can then complete the application form to apply for the apprenticeship.

There is no set time when an apprenticeship is advertised, and once an apprenticeship is available it will be advertised for usually 2 weeks. Once the advert has closed and if your application has been successful you will be invited for an interview, this will usually be sent to the email address you provided when you registered.

After your interview you will be notified whether or not you have been offered the position. If you have been offered the position we will begin the pre-employment checks and confirm a start date.

Once you have started the Training Provider will come and meet with you and your line manager to discuss the apprenticeship programme that has been tailored to meet the requirements of the job role and your needs.

Existing staff should contact the Learning and Development Department for guidance on applicable apprenticeship training for their role.
