Having completed a first degree in Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, Ms Dartnell entered medicine as a mature student to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School. Qualifying as a doctor in 2004, she moved on to Basic Surgical Training in North East London.
During her Higher Surgical Training in the South East London Region she worked in a number of hospitals as a registrar including Great Ormond Street Children’s hospital, Evelina Children’s Hospital and Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. During this training she also gained an MSc in Trauma & Orthopaedics writing a dissertation on Musculoskeletal Infection in children which helped to inform National guidelines.
She returned to Evelina Children’s Hospital in 2013 for a Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics and then on to National University Hospital in Singapore where she continued Fellowship training and worked as a Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics. Gaining her CCT in Trauma and Orthopaedics in October 2014, she was appointed as a Consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells in March 2015.
Ms Dartnell works tirelessly and compassionately for her patients. She is a great patient advocate and constantly desires to see the provision of services for her patients improving. She enjoys very much being a surgeon and is a great asset to colleagues and patients alike.
