Professional Profile
Ms Danielle Brogden is a Colorectal and General Surgeon and has been a consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust since 2024.
She qualified at the University of Bristol in 2010 having also undertaken an BSc (Hons) in Cancer Biology in 2007 and completing her Foundation Years and Core Surgical Training in the Severn Deanery. She completed her Higher Surgical training in North-West London (Imperial College London).
Ms Brogden specialises in minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery, the management of colorectal pelvic floor disorders and the treatment of anal intraepithelial neoplasia (HSIL) and early anal squamous cell carcinomas (ASCC).
In 2022 Ms Brogden completed a PhD at Imperial College London in the Social Demographics, Epidemiology and Treatment of Anal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ASCC) and its precursor Anal intraepithelial Neoplasia (HSIL). Her research led to multiple publications and international presentations on this topic.
She is on the Steering Committee for the Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland ASCC and HSIL clinical guidelines and is an author of the 2025 British HIV Association and the 2025 British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology consensus guidelines for the screening and treatment of HSIL in high-risk individuals.
Ms Brogden is a High-Resolution Anoscopy provider and provides tertiary referral and treatment for HSIL and early Anal SCC for the Kent Oncology Centre Regional Anal Cancer MDT.
Ms Brogden is currently Clinical Audit Lead and Deputy Surgical Tutor for the General Surgery Department at MTW and also has two national leadership roles at the Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI); she is Vice Chair and Chair-in waiting (from May 2026) for the Early Years Consultants Network and an Elected member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
