Professional Profile
Mr Maskell graduated from Bart’s & The Royal London Medical school in 2001 with a Distinction at MBBS and 1st Class honours in a Bachelor of Medical Sciences. He gained a training post on the prestigious Kingston Hospital Basic Surgical Training Scheme before ultimately deciding upon ENT as a career during which time he obtained the Diploma in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.
He has undergone specialist ENT training on the South East Thames rotation, including having spent 2 years at Great Ormond St Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Maskell also has completed a sub-specialist Fellowship in Otology & Hearing Implantation at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital within the Professorial unit.
He has a Master’s qualification specifically in Surgical Education and is a member of the Canterbury University faculty FRCS mock examination course at Consultant level.
Mr Maskell was appointed in 2016 as a substantive Consultant at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust having worked previously at consultant level in Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
He is a member of ENT UK, the British Society of Otology, British Association for Paediatric Otolaryngologists and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. He was Secretary of the British Balance Network 2016-2018.
His sub-specialist interests include all aspects of Otology including complex mastoid procedures. He also has an active interest in Paediatric Otolaryngology and Balance disorders.
