Professional Profile
Mr Matyas Fehervari is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI), Bariatric, and General Surgeon. His clinical expertise includes minimally-invasive surgical treatments for obesity, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), various UGI and gallbladder conditions, and hernias. He also has a special interest and expertise in endoscopic procedures.
Mr Fehervari is pathway lead for upper gastrointestinal cancer and if you are referred urgently with a suspected UGI cancer, your investigations may be coordinated by him and his team.
Mr Fehervari completed a fellowship in anti-reflux and bariatric surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons and holds a PhD in Clinical Surgery, along with two Master’s degrees. He has undertaken travel fellowships at leading international surgical centres, including the Mayo Clinic in the United States and University Hospital Strasbourg, France.

Mr Fehervari regularly leads surgical skills and national JAG-accredited endoscopy courses. He is actively involved in evolving endoscopic practice, enhancing techniques and training future specialists.
