Mr Nicholl undertook his medical training at Cambridge University and Guy’s Hospital, qualifying in 1988. He completed his orthopaedic training on the Guy’s and St Thomas’ rotation.

Mr Nicholl holds fellowships in Shoulder Surgery (Guy’s Hospital) and Hand Surgery (Queen Victoria Hospital). He was appointed Orthopaedic Consultant at Kent and Sussex Hospital in 1998.

Elective practice is almost entirely upper limb surgery and conditions treated include carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, hand, wrist and elbow arthritis, tennis elbow, trigger digits.

He performs a wide spectrum of trauma procedures with a special interest in the treatment of fractures of the hand and wrist. His research interests include scaphoid fractures and trapeziectomy for the treatment of thumb arthritis.
