Mr Allan Nghiem has been a consultant ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgeon at the trust since 2025.

He studied Medicine at the University of Bristol qualifying in 2011. He attained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in 2014 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) in 2019.

Mr Nghiem completed his ophthalmic surgical training in London and has undertaken two advanced fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital specialising in the surgical management of complex oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital diseases in both adults and children.

As a consultant, Mr Nghiem went on to establish and lead a new Moorfields oculoplastic surgical centre of excellence in East London before his substantive appointment at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2025.

Mr Nghiem specialises in all aspects of ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive, lacrimal, orbital and cataract surgery, including the latest techniques of scarless ptosis surgery and endoscopic DCR.
