Professional Profile
Dr Ruhi Jawad qualified in 1985 and worked in obstetrics and gynaecology until 2000. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
She then joined sexual and reproductive health and forensic gynaecology (Forensic Medical Examiner) at The Havens (SARC) at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
She completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology and sexual and reproductive healthcare in 2008, and has been a consultant in sexual and reproductive health since 2008 at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and now at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
As a consultant her main interest is in providing sexual and reproductive health care as part of a multidisciplinary team. She also has a special interest in management of complex contraception and complex long-acting reversible contraceptive care.
Dr Jawad is also a clinical and educational supervisor for the trust.
