Professional Profile
Dr Balasubramanian has been working with children since he qualified as a doctor in 1993. He completed his higher specialist training at various teaching hospitals in London.
After gaining entry into the GMC’s specialist register in 2008, Dr Balasubramanian joined as a Consultant Paediatrician at the Trust. He has special interest in Paediatric Cardiology and Nephrology with close networking with cardiologists at the Royal Brompton Hospital London and the nephrologists at the Evelina Children’s Hospital London.
He regularly teaches medical students from King’s College London and St. George’s University London, and is a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University. Dr Balasubramanian teaches Paediatric Simulation and Resuscitation training for medical students and junior doctors, and is a qualified instructor for the European Paediatric Life Support course.
He is the lead for clinical governance and clinical audit for Paediatrics, and represents Paediatrics in the Drug & Therapeutics committee, Trauma committee and is the A&E liaison paediatrician.
