Professional Profile
I qualified in 1998 from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. I then spent time working in A & E and undertook 2 years of General Medical training whilst obtaining my M.R.C.P qualification. Whilst doing this a last minute change of the hospital rota led to me spending time as a junior doctor in the Oncology Department here in Kent Oncology. From there my love of Oncology developed and I knew it was the right career for me.
My Oncology training (including obtaining my F.R.C.R qualification) took place across London and Kent mainly at The Royal Marsden Hospitals, Guys and St Thomas’s and of course here in Kent itself.
Alongside my clinical work in the fields of Breast and Lung cancer I am keen that all patients have access to clinical trials where appropriate. I am actively involved in our research and trials department bringing new trials to Kent and recruiting patients to take part.
I am also passionate about the importance of education within medicine particularly for our trainees, who are our next generation of Oncologists. I have undertaken qualifications in Medical Education and am our trainees Educational Supervisor/College Tutor.
