Professional Profile
Dr Beth Mackay is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine specialising in providing symptom control, psychological support and end of life care for patients with life limiting illness. She is also the clinical lead for the Enhanced Supportive Care service which offers support to patients who are still receiving active treatment for an advanced, incurable cancer.
She undertook her undergraduate training at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, qualifying in 2010. After rotating through hospitals in London and the south east as part of her general medical training she later commenced higher specialist training as part of the South Thames training programme. She received her CCT in 2024 shortly before securing a consultant post at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
As part of her training Dr Mackay completed the Royal College of Physicians Chief Registrar programme at MTW and she retains an interest in quality improvement and service development.
