Professional Profile

A highly accomplished clinical oncologist with over two decades of expertise, Dr Beena Kunheri completed her postgraduate training at the prestigious Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, India, in 2004.

She progressed in her career and went on to serve as Professor and Academic Head of Oncology at a leading university teaching hospital in India, where she provided strong clinical leadership and contributed extensively to medical education and research.

In 2020, she relocated to Qatar to join the National Center for Cancer Care and Research, Hamad Medical Corporation. During her tenure, she was instrumental in designing and establishing the Radiation Oncology Residency Program and its comprehensive curriculum. She brings exceptional proficiency in advanced radiation technologies, including tomotherapy, SRS, and SABR.

Dr Kunheri has an impressive academic record with over 40 publications, including 25 original research articles, book chapters, and review papers. She is also the author of a book on early breast cancer diagnosis and management, published in 2020.

She joined MTW in 2023, as a consultant clinical oncologist. Her subspecialty interests include breast cancer, gynaecological oncology, and prostate cancer. She is widely recognised for her dedication to evidence-based practice, innovation in cancer care and excellence in patient outcomes.
