Dr Angus Turner graduated MBBS from University College Hospital in 1986. After a period of general medical training and cardiology research based at St George’s Hospital, London, Angus transferred to Anaesthesia, with a focus on Intensive Care Medicine, also at St George’s Hospital, becoming a Consultant in 2000.

Angus obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1989, Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1996 and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. Initially appointed as a Consultant at St Helier Hospital in 2000, Angus moved to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2005. Angus was Clinical Lead for Intensive Care at Maidstone Hospital between 2008 and 2013, other roles have included Faculty Tutor for Intensive Care, and Departmental Leads for Patient Transfer, Trauma and Clinical Governance.

Angus has had numerous professional interests, including periods as Research Fellow at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, providing medical support for the aeromedical transfer of the critically ill, and seven years in the Army Reserves. More recently, Angus’ focus has been on anaesthesia and critical care for gastrointestinal and gynaecological cancer surgery, and intensive care for wide variety of emergency medical and surgical cases.
