Professional Profile
Mr Christopher Wright is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon working at Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
He was appointed as a consultant at the Trust in 2014 and has served as Lead Clinician for Colorectal Surgery, a role which includes representing the department on the Trust Cancer Committee.
Mr Wright has specialist expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery as well as transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM).
He graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2002 and completed his higher surgical training in the London Deanery in 2013.
At the end of his training he was awarded one of just six prestigious Ethicon Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowships available nationally, giving him broad experience in advanced laparoscopic techniques. He undertook the six month fellowship at the renowned laparoscopic training unit at Colchester University Hospital.
Mr Wright offers his patients the full range of inpatient and outpatient colorectal and general surgical services including emergency surgery.
He is a keen proponent of medical education and was previously Specialty Tutor for the Department of General Surgery at MTW. He is also an examiner for the GKT Medical School in London.
