On 3 June, Synnovis, a pathology laboratory which processes tests on behalf of a number of NHS organisations (including Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust), was the victim of a cyber attack.

NHS England has now said that a cyber criminal group has published data which they are claiming belongs to Synnovis and was stolen as part of this attack. The National Crime Agency and National Cyber Security Centre are working to verify the data included in the published files as quickly as possible.

NHS England has set up a helpline and published a series of regularly updated questions and answers.

Patients should continue to attend scheduled appointments and access urgent and emergency care as normal.
