The Emergency Department (ED) teams at Tunbridge Wells Hospital have been featured in a new TV documentary series.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital is one of three EDs that features in the new series of Channel 5’s ‘A&E After Dark’, which aired its first three episodes from Thursday 4 January to 18 January. Broadcasting weekly at 9pm on 5STAR, the series has also been available to stream on the My5 app.

With the third episode alone drawing a quarter of a million viewers, the popular series will resume in April, when it will run the remaining episodes to a national prime time audience.

Now on its fifth series, ‘A&E After Dark’ offers a glimpse of what it’s like to work on the front line of emergency care after hours and follows ED teams from Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW).

Chief Operating Officer at MTW, Sean Briggs, said: “The Trust’s involvement in the latest series of ‘A&E After Dark’ gives us the opportunity to highlight the skill and dedication of our teams working in one of the best performing emergency departments in the country. Colleagues work incredibly hard around the clock to support patients and this series provides a fascinating insight into the outstanding care they provide. I want to thank all the patients, their families and our staff who took part in the filming and shared their experiences.”
