Huge congratulations to Nicki Pointer, Clinical Site Manager and Zena Bailey, Emergency Medicine Doctor who, along with their singing peers representing frontline workers from health, social care, police, fire and education as well as some theatre performers who got jobs on the frontline during the pandemic, made it through to the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent!

At the semi-final the group sang a specially-written song One step behind to rapturous applause but sadly they just missed out on a place in the final.

Zena said: “Working as the receiving doctor for all confirmed and suspected covid patients during all of the covid peaks has been difficult and I could not have managed this without the endless support of my colleagues and the amazing team effort required to see us all through this time. I have always been passionate about music and joining the frontline singers at a time when I needed hope more than any other, gave me a much-needed outlet during this stressful and emotional time.

Nikki continued: “I joined the Frontline Singers back at the start of the pandemic.…. Music taps into every emotion and especially those raw emotions of this pandemic which has been, and still is, the most challenging time that we have all been through.

“In a nutshell this has been the most overwhelming, amazing and once in a lifetime experience.”
