There are now just a few days left to respond to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust’s engagement on proposals to improve inpatient cardiology (heart) services. The engagement period closes at midnight on Friday 14 January and MTW is asking people in West Kent and East Sussex to take a few minutes to review the proposals and complete the engagement questionnaire. Full details are available on the MTW website at https://www.mtw.nhs.uk/cardiology-engagement/.

Speaking about the proposals, Dr Laurence Nunn, Consultant Cardiologist said: “At the moment inpatient cardiology care and specialist cardiology procedures are split across both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals. This means our limited staff and resources have to be split too. In addition, both sites offer different treatments and procedures, so patients are often transferred between hospitals to get the care they need. We want to bring all cardiology inpatient care and procedures onto one of our hospital sites. We’re asking local people to tell us what they think the advantages and disadvantages of the proposal could be before the engagement period closes at midnight on Friday 14 January.”
