Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs and TV presenter Davina McCall have sent personal messages of support to staff working at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust during the coronavirus pandemic.

Davina, who is clearly emotional towards the end of the footage, thanks all the doctors, nurses, porters, caterers, and cleaners for all that they are doing.

Meanwhile, Jason Isaacs not only thanked the staff but also gave a special mention to Emma Aldrich, Head of Library and Knowledge Services, who he knows.

Both messages were shared on the Trust’s social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

In addition, the Trust also received a letter of support from the newly appointed High Sheriff of Kent Remony Millwater.

It reads: “When I started to plan my year I did not anticipate that I would be confined to my home.  I had hoped to be able to visit people, projects and charities all over the county that have any connection to my role, as I would like to find out more about the great job that you do, to offer my encouragement and support and to show my appreciation.

“I am obviously unable to visit at this time but I would like you to know that I am aware of the enormous pressure there must be on you, both with the increased number of patients, the high risk to staff and the worry for everyone. I would like to thank you all. Take care and stay safe.”

Simon Hart, MTW NHS Trust’s Director of Workforce, said: “Messages of support such as these give our staff a much needed boost during this challenging time.

“To know they have the backing of the public, no matter who they may be, means a lot to them and is always gratefully received.”
