Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy aims to identify any difficulties patients may be experiencing with everyday activities following an illness or injury. These may include areas of personal care such as washing and dressing, household tasks such as cooking or leisure activities. These activities are then used to retrain lost skills or can be adapted, together with a person’s environment, to compensate for the impairment.

Our dedicated team of occupational therapists will help to find solutions to address these difficulties in order to maintain patients’ safety and maximise their independence for discharge from hospital.

How to get referred

  • Via ward staff or medical team for inpatient services
  • Via GP or consultant for outpatient services
