At Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, we offer all three choices for place of birth – at home, in a birth centre and at hospital. Currently only around five per cent of the population has access to all three options.
If you’re interested in having your baby at home or at one of our birth centres, read our latest ‘Births in out of hospital settings report‘ report.
If you opt to have your baby in our birth centre or at our maternity unit, here’s a handy checklist of items to bring with you.
After your baby is born
For information about the support families can access after your baby is born, and for children aged under five years’ old, visit the health visiting service website. The health visiting teams work in line with the national Healthy Child Programme, which aims to promote optimal health and wellbeing for all children.
