Complex “Keyhole” and Open cancer surgery. Salvage anal cancer surgery. Surgery for early rectal cancers (TEMS). Enteric fistula surgery. General and emergency surgery. Endoscopy.
Educated at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London, the South east Thames and Wessex surgical rotations, he was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at MTW in November 2005. In the last ten years he has introduced laparoscopic colorectal surgery and TEMS to the trust. He has helped develop an ERAS service that has been recognised regionally and nationally. Mr. Bailey has been the Royal College Tutor for Surgery and also Clinical Director for Surgical services. He has held posts on the Local Negotiating and Trauma committees. He is currently deputy lead of the Colorectal MDT, Lead Salvage Surgeon and a member of the Court of Examiners for the RCS of England.
