Professional Profile

Mr Yamamoto is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with specialist interests in advanced diagnostic methods for prostate and bladder cancer, robotic-assisted surgery, and holmium laser prostate surgery (HoLEP). He is the current Trust lead for the urgent referral pathways for prostate and bladder cancer and also the departmental lead for education.

Following undergraduate training at Cambridge University his postgraduate urological training took place within the South Thames Rotation where he gained expertise at centres of excellence including Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals, The Royal Marsden Hospital, and King’s College London Hospital.

His academic achievements include a PhD in prostate cancer at University College London. He also held the position of Academic Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London and led several translational research projects in prostate and bladder cancer.

He is a member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, British Association of Urological Surgeons and the European Association of Urology.
