Professional Profile

Dr Park earned his medical degree from Cambridge and St George’s University, London then went on to complete his paediatric specialist training in London while developing a specialist interest in neonates.

Following this he worked in Glan Clwyd hospital in North Wales as a neonatal consultant and clinical lead for three years at the Sub-Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre overseeing and coordinating neonatal care across three hospitals.

Dr Park joined the Trust in 2020 and provides acute care for babies on the neonatal unit and runs general paediatric outpatient clinics. Between 2022 and 2023, he served as the neonatal clinical lead and is currently the medical lead for fetal care planning, quality improvement and family centred care.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, a member of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, and has previously been a member of the Welsh Medical Committee providing advice and guidance to the government.

He has also served for several years as a clinical advisor to the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (now known as Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations) providing expertise and quality assurance to maternity and neonatal investigations.

Dr Park has an interest in management particularly around risk and obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Roehampton with a research project looking at clinical leadership and medical errors.

He is a qualified Neonatal Life Support Instructor, European Paediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor, and medical simulation trainer.
