Professional Profile

Dr Takeda completed his undergraduate medical studies from the University of London gaining his MBBS degree in 1992.  He received his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine in 2006, and holds an NHS post at Maidstone Hospital, Kent.

He has a specialist interest in heart failure and is the heart failure enhancing quality lead for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.  He was a research Fellow at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and did substantive research into valvular heart disease and has published internationally.  He has an additional specialist interest in cardiac imaging and echocardiography and developed the stress echo service at Maidstone Hospital as well as CT coronary angiography at the new Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

He also has a specialist interest in pacing and developed the complex device service (ICD’s and biventricular pacemakers) at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells which is now the largest in Kent.

He has been Clinical Lead for cardiology services at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells since 2012.
