Professional Profile

Dr Priya Palanisamy graduated with distinction in MBBS in 2013 and completed her MD in Radiodiagnosis in 2018 at Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, India.

She gained early experience as a junior consultant radiologist at Apollo Hospitals and later worked as Assistant Professor in Radiology at Sri Ramachandra Medical University, India, where she was part of the teaching faculty, training postgraduate students.

In pursuit of further specialisation, Dr Palanisamy was selected by the Royal College of Radiology (RCR) and Manchester University for a one-year fellowship in Breast Imaging and Intervention.

After completing the fellowship, she joined the Trust as a consultant radiologist in 2022, focusing on symptomatic and screening breast imaging.

Dr Palanisamy is an active member of the Primary and Metastatic Breast Multidisciplinary teams (MDM), collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality care to patients. Her clinical interests also include reporting gynaecological imaging.

Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Dr Palanisamy is actively involved in clinical research, serving as the principal investigator for clinical trials at the Peggy Wood Breast Unit at Maidstone Hospital and providing radiology support for breast oncology research at the Kent Oncology Centre.

Dr Palanisamy co-authored the book Holistic Approach to Breast Disease, published by Springer, and also serves as an external evaluator for PhD theses at a medical university in India.
