Professional Profile

Dr Doaa Almeldin is a consultant clinical oncologist with broad experience in the management and research of breast and thoracic malignancies.

She completed her clinical oncology training at Kasralainy Teaching Hospitals, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in 2017 where has been Lecturer in Clinical Oncology since 2020.

Her clinical portfolio covers breast, lung cancer and neuro-oncology cases, including complex and advanced disease stages with exposure to diverse oncological challenges.

Dr Almeldin holds an MSc and PhD from Cairo University, with her doctoral research investigating the tumour microenvironment in HER2-positive breast cancer, reflecting her commitment to advancing personalised cancer therapy.

To broaden her academic expertise, she undertook visiting research scholar roles at international cancer centres including Northwestern Cancer Center (Chicago) and Rutgers Cancer Institute (New Jersey), focusing on advanced radiation oncology techniques and lung cancer management.

Most recently, she completed her Oncology Research Fellowship at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) in 2023, where she focused on functional neuro-oncology imaging and proton beam radiotherapy planning.

Dr Almeldin’s professional interests lie at the intersection of clinical oncology, translational research, and advanced radiation therapy techniques.

Her published work focusses on understanding of and treatment strategies in breast and lung cancers.
