Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS (MTW) Charitable Fund is getting into the Christmas spirit by launching its first ever virtual Christmas stocking auction between Monday 30 November and Monday 7 December 2020. The auction features prizes donated by renowned authors, athletes and celebrities from TV and film. The event will raise funds to support staff health and wellbeing, including a staff shower and changing area upgrade at Maidstone Hospital.
Some of the unique auction lots available include a phone call with Jerome Flynn, Game of Thrones Star, and signed photo, a signed copy of ‘This is Going To Hurt,’ by best-selling author Adam Kay, a fizz brunch for two at a renowned local restaurant, the opportunity to walk with Alpacas in Romney Marsh or bungee jump from 160ft in Brighton. In advance of the launch celebrations on Monday 30 November, a very special cake has been commissioned by the Trust’s dedicated charity. Celebrity and world renowned cake sculptor Michelle Wibowo, who features in Channel 4’s ‘Extreme Cake Makers’ has created a bespoke bronze cake of Captain Sir Tom Moore, especially for the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Charitable Fund. Michelle who won double gold in the Culinary Olympics has generously donated the cake.
Michelle Wibowo commented: “It’s been a pleasure to work on this collaboration and highlight Captain Sir Tom Moore’s incredible contribution to NHS charities, including Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Charitable Fund. Cake and art can help to unite people of all backgrounds and I wish the Fund all the very best with their fundraising campaign”.
