In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week (3 to 9 February 2020), MTW’s Apprenticeship Team will be running a series of events across the week so the public can find out about apprenticeship opportunities within the Trust.

There will be a drop-in session from 10am to 12pm in the main reception area at Maidstone Hospital on Monday 3 February.

Another drop-in session will also be held in the main reception area of Tunbridge Wells Hospital between 1pm and 3pm on Thursday 6 February.

On Friday 7 February the team will also host a stall at the Apprenticeship Fair at Mote Park Leisure Centre between 8am and 2pm. The event will give Year 11, 12 and 13 students the chance to meet with potential employers, like MTW NHS Trust, and explore the apprenticeship opportunities available to them.

Apprenticeships, which are considered full-time employment, combine hands-on work with classroom learning to train the apprentice. As the apprentice is learning, they are also applying the lessons through working.

MTW NHS Trust currently has 140 apprentices working towards various qualifications so they can either upskill in their current role or qualify to work in a new role. These apprenticeships cover a variety of roles including PR and Communications, Business Support, HR, Midwifery, nursing, healthcare science,  and estates and facilities.

The events listed above are a great opportunity for everyone to come along and find out about apprenticeship opportunities which are on offer here at MTW, so if you know anyone who might be interested, please spread the word about the events that are taking place next week.

Information about apprenticeships at the Trust can be found by calling 01622 225001 or contacting mtw-tr.apprenticeships@nhs.net
