Staff from John Day Ward at Maidstone Hospital have received a generous donation of three drugs trolleys from the family of a patient who sadly died last year.

John Peter Lewis’s family were so pleased with the care he received they used donations from his funeral to purchase the equipment to benefit staff and patients on the ward.

They said: “Staff on this ward really went the extra mile while John was a patient in Maidstone hospital for 14 weeks last year. They kept him positive, going above and beyond on a daily basis. We can’t sing their praises highly enough. John would have been delighted to know that we have been able to give something back to the ward staff which will help them on a day-to-day basis, and benefit many patients too.”

Ward Manager, Neil Salmon, said: “We are delighted to have been given these trolleys and would like to say a huge thank you to John’s family for their kindness, generosity and support. The trolleys will make a huge difference on the ward to both staff and patients.”
