Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent, in the south east of England.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites:  Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.

We also provide specialist cancer services to around 1.8 million people across Kent, Hastings and Rother, from the Kent Oncology Centre, which is located at Maidstone Hospital and at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury.

We employ over 5,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.

About Maidstone Hospital

Maidstone Hospital provides a wide range of complex and routine surgical and medical services. It also has the latest in diagnostic facilities.

Maidstone Hospital is the base for the Kent Oncology Centre, which provides complex radiotherapy and chemotherapy for patients throughout Kent and north East Sussex.

The hospital has a dedicated state of the art laparoscopic theatre linked to an International Minimal Access Centre for Surgery (IMACS). This new facility is involved in the worldwide development of innovative techniques in keyhole surgery.

The hospital is a short distance from Maidstone town centre and there are good public transport links with buses running to the hospital seven days a week.

About Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury is the first NHS hospital in England to provide en-suite, single rooms for all inpatients, most of which have woodland views.

The hospital provides a range of complex and routine surgical and medical services.

It has a Trauma Centre, Accident & Emergency Department, Orthopaedic Centre and Women and Children’s centre, all of which service patients from across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.

The hospital is seen, nationally, as an example of best practice in the design of patient-safe facilities and has attracted widespread international interest.

The hospital is a short distance from Tunbridge Wells town centre and there are good public transport links with buses running to the hospital seven days a week.
