Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells is committed to being a Health Care provider and Employer of choice and is working proactively to identify and address any barriers or discrimination on the basis of age, gender, race, disability, sexual orientation and faith/religion.

In the last 2 years we have launched our BME (Black, Minority, Ethnic) Network and Disability Action Group.

The networks work with the Trust to identify issues and agree actions in partnership. All of our staff are required to attend Equality and Diversity training and we have a wide range of diversity programmes tailored for the variety of responsibilities and roles within our Trust which include Mental Health Awareness workshops, Equality and Diversity workshops for staff and Managers, e-learning and Equality Impact Assessment training.

As a Trust we closely monitor implementation of all of our HR practices to identify any potential misrepresentation and work with the networks to address this. Reports are submitted to the HR Committee on a quarterly basis and all of our policies and service changes are Equality Impact Assessed. You can find more information on our networks, action plans, reports and Equality impact assessements on the following pages.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust is an equal opportunities employer, we are currently members of the positive about disability scheme and are a Mindful Employer. In 2010 we aim to start the journey towards becoming a Stonewalls champion.
