Pharmacy

Welcome to the Pharmacy Department web pages. The department provides a wide range of services to the Trust and its patients including:

• Inpatient and outpatient dispensing
• Ward pharmacy services
• Medicines Information
• Specialist oncology pharmacy services
• Aseptic preparation 
• Purchasing and distribution of medicines
• Pharmacy services to some cottage hospitals and to hospices

Pharmacy services are provided from trhee locations; there are dispensing pharmacies at the The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, Maidstone Hospital and the Kent Oncology Centre.

Pharmacy Figures

Each year the department dispenses approximately 500,000 prescription items for inpatients and outpatients.

We purchase and distribute annually £21.5 million of medicines on behalf of The Trust and other local healthcare providers.

In oncology and aseptics we prepare 28,000 injections, infusions and other products per year for individual patients.
