Coming into hospital can be a very anxious time. Worries about illness, operations, loved ones and many practical matters can affect us.
A Chaplain is someone who is available to listen to you, to offer you support and should you wish pray with you.
The Chaplains can help you to make contact with a leader of your own faith. The Chaplain is assisted by a group of volunteers who visit the wards and are willing to talk and pray with you. Whatever your beliefs your opinions will be respected.
There is a Multi-Faith Chapel/Quiet Room in each hospital for you if you need a place for peace and reflection.
Maidstone Hospital: As you enter main reception, the Chapel/Quiet Room is located on the left opposite the League of Friends book shop.
Tunbridge Wells Hospital: The Chapel/Quiet Room can be found on level 0 of the hospital, along the corridor to the right of main reception.
The Chapel/Quiet Room is always open.
You can contact a chaplain during office hours:

If you need to contact a Chaplain urgently, please call the hospital switchboard on 0845 155 1000 and ask for the on-call chaplain. Patients can also ask a member of staff to contact a chaplain on your behalf.
