In Hospital

If you choose to have your baby in hospital it will be at the new, all single room Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Women who have had their babies there are full of praise for the new facilities.

A typical response was from Valentina, who enjoyed the privacy of her own room. She said: "The new hospital is great. It was only when I saw someone in uniform I remembered it was a hospital."

The individual rooms have their own flat screen freeview television, are individually temperature controlled, and many have woodland views. There are two birthing pools in the Delivery Suite and the centre has medical facilities which are second to none, including dedicated operating theatres, intensive care for babies and full obstetric and paediatric support from highly experienced specialist consultants.

Lucy, one of the few Maidstone women who were able to be booked into the Tunbridge Wells Hospital before it was fully open completely agrees. She said: "The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The birth was the best experience. It's a lovely hospital and felt more like a hotel. I had a lovely en suite room and felt very comfortable. I had a great night's sleep and plenty of rest too"
